American Water Works Association Energy Management Award
The award is bestowed annually by the American Water Works Association to water agencies which have recently completed projects exhibiting outstanding energy management leadership in their operation of potable water supply, treatment and distribution systems or recycled water distribution systems. The award acknowledges energy and energy-cost savings attributed to innovative, significant, and transferable techniques for energy management.

The Water District received this award for integrated energy management programs. In its application, the district featured its participation in the green business certification program, Sustainable Silicon Valley Initiatives partnership, PG&E Saving By Design program, Anderson Hydroelectric Facility, Power and Water Resources Pooling Authority and our solar installation at Almaden headquarters.
