NAFSMA awards
District awarded top Excellence in Communication award
At the National Association of Flood and Stormwater Management Agencies 2006 Annual Meeting & Workshop in San Antonio, Texas, the Santa Clara Valley Water District was honored with a first place award for Excellence in Communication.

The award, in the individual category of Public Awareness of Flooding and Food Prevention, recognized the 2005-2006 Flood Safety Awareness Campaign that highlighted the message “We see Water…so you don’t have to.”

 

SCVURPPP receives 3rd place award
The Santa Clara Valley Urban Runoff Pollution Prevention Program also received the 2006 National Excellence in Communication Award - Improving Water Quality Third Place from NAFSMA.

The Excellence in Communication award recognized the Program's Watershed Watch Campaign for the media advertising conducted in September-October 2005. The campaign utilized print, radio and transit advertising that featured the popular "Got Bulbs" and "Got Bugs" ads. These ads focused on pesticide and mercury pollution prevention.
