Come join us for the next Project WET training.  WET activities are designed to satisfy the goals of educational programs by complementing existing curricula rather than displacing or adding more concepts. Project WET activities provide many opportunities to address curriculum objectives and educational standards. These interdisciplinary activities designed for students in grades K-12 are perfect for use in formal and non-formal education settings

SAN JOSE/SANTA CLARA WATER POLLUTION CONTROL PLANTS:
Interested in a special free tour of the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant and the wetlands of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge?  Come   learn firsthand how our everyday activities impact the Bay and its wetlands.

Water Pollution Plant tours available May 12- limited spaces available for schools with children aged 10 and over. Two tour times are available to adults and children over 10 years old.

Morning Tour: 10 am - Noon (check-in at 9:30 am)
Afternoon Tour: 1:30 - 3:30 pm (check-in at 1 pm)

Since the tour buses have a limited capacity, space is limited to the first 175 people. Please register by May 10, 2007. A written confirmation of your tour request will be sent to you by e-mail.

Go Green Earth Summit Schools Environmental Conference

What:   Go Green Initiative Earth Summit
When:  Nov. 2 and 3, 2007
Where: Marriott Hotel next to the SJ Convention Center
Why:     To promote environmental stewardship in San José area K-12 schools.

This conference-within-a-conference will focus on San José area environmental resources available for greening K-12 schools. The following topics will be covered: 

  • school recycling
  • composting
  • green buying
  • environmental education
  • integrated pest management for schools
  • green cleaning for schools
