Guadalupe Watershed Song lessons

Objective: To provide an overview of the Guadalupe watershed.

Vocabulary

watershed reservoir head (of river) riverbed
flood plain slough percolation pond aquifer

Preparation

  1. Make copies of "Guadalupe Watershed" for students.
  2. Review poem and music tape.

Lesson 1:

  1. Distribute the "Guadalupe Watershed" poem.
  2. Invite students to circle all the "information" about the watershed contained in the song as they listen to it.
  3. Play the tape.
  4. Discuss the facts that students identify.
