Santa Clara Valley Water District board member recognized by the Berryessa Citizen Advisory Council Date: March 16, 2007 SANTA CLARA COUNTY— The Berryessa Citizens Advisory Council has honored Richard P. Santos, a member of the Santa Clara Valley Water District board of directors, with the 16th annual Citizen of the Year award for his outstanding contribution to the community. “Director Santos is being recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty in responding to the needs of the community, particularly in connection with the water district,” said Bill Hughes, President of the Berryessa Citizens Advisory Council. The Berryessa Citizens Advisory Council is a neighborhood association that is devoted to the enhancement of the Berryessa Community in North San Jose. “I consider it an honor and privilege to serve the community and remain committed to helping families and improving neighborhoods,” said Director Santos, who received the award on March 12, 2007. Director Santos has also been recognized and commended for his community efforts by U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein, U.S. Representatives Zoe Lofgren and Mike Honda, State Senators Elaine Alquist and Ellen M. Corbett, State Assemblymembers Sally J. Lieber, Jim Beall Jr. and Joe Coto, San Josè City Mayor Chuck Reed and Vice Mayor Dave Cortese, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors Pete McHugh, Santa Clara Valley Water District Board Chair Tony Estremera, San Josè City Library Director Jane Light, Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Director Lisa Killough and San Jose Fire Department Chief Darryl Von Reasfeld.
