Commercial Water Softener Rebate Program

Get $400 for replacing your old, inefficient, timer-based water softener with a new, efficient, demand initiated water softener! 

The district is offering $400 per rebate to business owner for replacing their old timer based water softener (owned or leased) with a new efficient demand initiated regeneration (DIR) water softener in the Santa Clara County. Rebate qualifications and rules:

  • Applicant must currently own or lease a timer-based self regenerating water softener or lease a exchange bottle water softener.
  • The old softener must be replaced with a new efficient, demand initiated regeneration (DIR) water softener or a new no salt water softener.
  • Installation must be in Santa Clara County.
  • The new water softener must be purchased after May 1, 2008.
  • Offer expires December 31, 2009, or when funds for fifty (50) rebates are depleted.
  • Offer is limited to one (1) water softener rebate per commercial site.
  • The Santa Clara Valley Water District reserves the right to verify customer eligibility, water softener sale, and installation before/after a rebate is paid. After installation, the water softener must remain at an eligible site for a minimum of 12 months after the installation date.
  • Offer void where prohibited or restricted by Law.
  • Do not submit application until pre-installation inspection has been completed.

Five easy steps to apply for your rebate:

  1. Before removal of your old softener, call Ray Wong of the SCVWD at (408) 265-2607, ext. 2288 to set up a pre-installation inspection. 
  2. Purchase a new water softener after the pre-installation inspection is completed 
  3. Complete and mail the rebate application form with a copy of sales receipt and W-9 Form no later than December 31, 2009. 
  4. The water district will schedule a post-installation inspection 
  5.  Allow 10-12 weeks for the $400 rebate check to be processed.
