Leasing of District Properties

The water district acquires properties that are required for future district projects or programs. Prior to the commencement of these projects, the district will seek to keep some of these properties occupied by leasing them to others at fair market rates.

When these properties are required for district purposes, reasonable termination notice is provided to the lessees or tenants (as required by law) to ensure that the property is available for district use.

  • Note: District Real Property shall not be leased to district employees, board members, or their immediate family members (parent, grandparent, spouse, child, sibling, or any other person sharing a comparable relationship resulting from marriage or a registered domestic partnership relationship).

Lease Available for 1.056 acre vacant lot with corral to keep and exercise a maximum of 2 horses in Los Altos Hills, APN 336-19-042 (end of Dawnridge Drive).

The Santa Clara Valley Water District will be accepting bids to lease this parcel. Bid must be postmarked or emailed on or before Sept. 8, 2014. Minimum bid accepted is $4,092 per year plus $500 deposit due prior to initial term.

Lease will have a 90-day cancellation clause and can be cancelled in writing by either party. Lease rate will be adjusted upward the beginning of the 2nd year and each year thereafter in proportion to the change in the Consumer Price Index (San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose or 4%, whichever is greater.) Insurance requirements must be met. Lease is subject to district-approved use and zoning restrictions.
