What is in your water?

The Santa Clara Valley Water District is the wholesale water supplier for Santa Clara County. Whether the water is pumped from the ground, is imported from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta or captured in one of the district's 10 reservoirs, the water district works to assure that it is clean and safe.

Our state-of-the-art water quality laboratory constantly monitors the water treated at one of three local plants. State and federal regulations set the standards for water safety.

You can review monthly reports on the quality of the water the district treats. As a wholesaler, we provide water to the retail or city-operated water services in the county. Each retailer is required to produce an annual water quality report for their customers. If you know who provides your water, you can request this report.

Even though the water that comes to your tap meets or exceeds all state and federal standards, many people choose to buy bottled water or home filtration systems.
