Creeks for adoptionNearly all of the creeks and rivers in Santa Clara County have been severely affected by the county's rapid growth population growth and are in desperate need of cleaning.
With more than 800 miles of streams, the Santa Clara Valley Water District is unable to oversee all the creeks alone. It needs the help of concerned citizens and businesses that want to help keep our community clean. Currently, the creeks that are in most need of adoption are in the Uvas/Llagas and Coyote watersheds near Morgan Hill/Gilroy and East San Jose/Milpitas respectively. Many other creeks are also available for adoption in many cities throughout Santa Clara County. Why not adopt a creek in your neighborhood? Below are links to city maps indicating creeks available for adoption. Creeks already adopted are marked in red. Portions of creeks and rivers colored in green and yellow, and not marked in red, may be available for adoption. Palo
