Trails, Parks and Open Space Grants

Grant Program Process

The following steps are included in the Phase I Grant Program process:

  1. The Applicant submits its Grant Application to the District, including the authorizing resolution. 2007 application deadline TBD.

  2. The District will host workshop(s) to present the Trails, Parks and Open Space Grant Program.
  3. The District evaluates all applications based on attached eligibility and ranking criteria.

  4. The District’s Environmental Advisory Committee reviews ranked projects and makes recommendations back to the Board for their deliberation.

  5. The District Board selects the Projects for funding. 

  6. The District informs the Applicant of grant awards and begins contract negotiations.

  7. The District and Grantee complete execution of the Contract within 6 months of award notification.

  8. The Grantee commences work on the project and submits invoices quarterly or upon completion of tasks for reimbursement.

  9. The Grantee completes the Project and submits the final invoice and requests contract closure.

  10. The District makes a final on-site project inspection.

  11. The District processes the final payment.

  12. The District may perform an audit of the completed Project
