Resolution No. 91-53
Setting requirements for metering of well production in Groundwater Production Zones

Be it resolved, by the Board of Directors of Santa Clara Valley Water District as follows:

First: From and after the effective date of Ordinance No. 87-1 Amending Ordinance No. 70-1 [PDF 194 KB] and subject to the provisions of those ordinances respecting meter installation by this District, the following shall be the metering requirements in the groundwater extraction charge zones of this District.

Second: Resolution No. 87-26 is hereby repealed.

Third: Within Zone W-2 each owner of a groundwater producing facility primarily producing annually (a) agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 4 acre-feet or more or (b) water other than agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 1 acre-foot or more shall acquire and install on each such facility a meter to measure the production thereof.

Fourth: Within Zone W-5 each owner of a groundwater producing facility primarily producing annually (a) agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 20 acre-feet or more or (b) water other than agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 2 acre-feet or more shall acquire and install on each such facility a meter to measure the production thereof.

Fifth: Meter installations shall only be made at those sites determined to be economically feasible according to approved criteria or as required to facilitate the complete and accurate collection of groundwater production revenue.

Passed and adopted by the Board of Directors of the Santa Clara Valley Water District this 10th day of September 1991.
