The Berryessa Creek Flood Protection Project, which includes the completed work on Upper Berryessa Creek and planned improvements to Calera and Tularcitos creeks, will protect almost 2,500 homes and businesses in Milpitas from the threat of a 100-year flood event. A 100-year flood event has a 1% chance of occurring in any given year. Work on the Calera Creek portion of the project will include constructing a drop structure to help prevent erosion along the creek banks by slowing the creek's water flow.
