Living Wage Policy

Content

Valley Water has a Living Wage Policy that requires that people doing work for, or on behalf of Valley Water be paid a living wage.

Valley Water Board of Directors first adopted a Living Wage Policy in 2003. This policy was confirmed by the Board in 2008, and further revised in 2011.

On August 27, 2019, the Valley Water Board of Directors approved an update to Valley Water’s Living Wage Policy. The new policy applies to any new janitorial services and security services contracts and requires that workers employed on these contracts be paid at a wage either at or above the living wage rate, and be provided health insurance benefits as defined in the policy. The new policy will affect all contracts for janitorial services and security services that go into effect after August 27, 2019.

The living wage rate for new contracts is $23.78.

For any contract that was subject to the former Living Wage Policy and was entered into prior to August 27, 2019, the former policy is still in effect.

The living wage rate for all contracts subject to the former policy is $22.98
