Resolution No. 23-83: Requirements for metering of well production

Setting requirements for metering of well production in Groundwater Production Zones

Be it resolved, by the Board of Directors of Santa Clara Valley Water District as follows:

Whereas, from and after the effective date of Ordinance No. 87-1 Amending Ordinance No. 70-1 and subject to the provisions of those ordinances respecting meter installation by this District, the following shall be the metering requirements in the groundwater extraction charge zones of this District. 

Item One. Resolution No. 91-53 is hereby repealed.

Item Two. Within Zone W-2 (North County) each owner of a groundwater producing facility primarily producing annually (a) agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 20 acre-feet or more or (b) water other than agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 1 acre-foot or more shall acquire and install on each such facility a meter to measure the production thereof.

Item Three. Within Zone W-5 (Llagas Subbasin) each owner of a groundwater producing facility primarily producing annually (a) agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 20 acre‑feet or more or (b) water other than agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 2 acre-feet or more shall acquire and install on each such facility a meter to measure the production thereof.

Item Four. Within Zone W-7 (Coyote Valley) each owner of a groundwater producing facility primarily producing annually (a) agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 20 acre-feet or more or (b) water other than agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 2 acre-feet or more shall acquire and install on each such facility a meter to measure the production thereof.

Item Five. Within Zone W-8 (Uvas and Chesbro Reservoirs) each owner of a groundwater producing facility primarily producing annually (a) agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 20 acre-feet or more or (b) water other than agricultural water in an amount estimated to be 2 acre-feet or more shall acquire and install on each such facility a meter to measure the production thereof.
