Valley Water imports about half of the water used in Santa Clara County via contracts with the State Water Project and the federal Central Valley Project (CVP). Every five years, CVP contractors are required by the Bureau of Reclamation to prepare a Water Management Plan (WMP) to meet requirements of the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA). Valley Water as a CVP contractor is subject to this requirement and has completed its draft 2022 WMP. Valley Water’s 2022 WMP documents the operations and management of its system, inventory of current water resources, and water conservation and demand management efforts during the past five years.
Valley Water’s Board of Directors will hold a public hearing on November 8, 2022, at 1:00 pm to allow interested members of the public to participate in the review process. Local agencies, water retailers, and the public are encouraged to review the 2022 WMP and provide any comments prior to, or at, the public hearing.
