AlertSCC
The Santa Clara Valley Water District encourages residents to participate in the AlertSCC, the Santa Clara County emergency alert system.
AlertSCC is a free, easy, and confidential way for anyone who lives or works in Santa Clara County to get emergency warnings sent directly to their cell phone, mobile device, e-mail, or landline. AlertSCC can reach you wherever you are to provide information and instructions in a variety of emergency situations, which may include:
- Flooding, wildfires and subsequent evacuations
- Public safety incidents, including crimes, that immediately affect your neighborhood
- Post-disaster information about shelters, transportation, or supplies

American Red Cross Flood App
Another helpful resource is the American Red Cross Flood app. Download this free app to your smartphone to get flood and flash flood watches and warning alerts for your location based on the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and the National Weather Service.
Use the app to prepare for an emergency with interactive quizzes, step-by-step advice, and flood safety and emergency preparedness tips, including recommended “next steps.”
